Make Old Towels Feel New!

Simple tricks to make your old towels feel soft and fluffy again!

When you're not quite ready to buy new towels and let's face it, who wants to spend money they don't need to, there are a few simple things you can do and not do, that add new life to your old towels!

And even better, they're easy on your wallet and the environment.

Detergent.  If your washing is particularly dirty, it's tempting to add more washing powder or liquid than you need.  Hold off.  The manufacturers are generally very generous with their portions!  Be sure to choose a natural washing powder.

Use less detergent

Fabric Softener.  We recommend you never use supermarket fabric softener.  It coats the fibres in your fabric making them less absorbent and what's the point of that when we at Ecodownunder worked hard to create super absorbent towels!

White Vinegar.  This really is a super household cleaning solution.  Toxin free, it's safe to use throughout the home and a fraction of the cost of other cleaning products.

Bicarbonate of Soda: another Ecodownunder healthy home favourite.  Again, it doesn't cost the earth and is a powerful cleaning agent in the home.

Line dry your laundry.  Bedding that dries in the breeze, has a fresh fragrance and feels naturally more soft.  if you have the luxury of an outdoor clothes line, be sure to use it in prefernce to the tumble drier.  Hanging the washing out also gives you a few moments of calm in our otherwise very busy lives!
