Continue ShoppingExperience has shown people either prefer a thick, plush fluffy towel or a ribbed towel for drying. Super absorbency is a given! Ecodownunder bath towels are all made from certified organic cotton. The Luxury Organic Cotton Bath Towel collection is 700 gsm which makes it super soft, thick and plush. The Whitehaven Ribbed Bath Towel is 650 gsm and whilst it is super soft to touch, it’s loved by those who prefer to dry themselves vigorously thanks to the ribbing through the towel.
New bath towels are a wonderful way to refresh your bathroom, without embarking on costly complete bathroom renovation! White towels help to create that bath time sanctuary feeling. But White towels are not practical in all homes, Airbnbs and holiday accommodation, or in areas of Australia where laundry water quality can be an issue. If this is you, we offer a range of colours inspired by tones we’re surrounded by in our oceans and rivers, shades of blues, greens and aquas. We choose colours to complement your bathroom, whatever your décor. Minimalist bathroom lovers may choose white or dark grey towels rather than introducing an eye-catching colour. All our towel colours will complement a neutral bathroom, and a pop of colour can be uplifting, with a clay towel or terracotta colour towel to introduce warm and neutral earthy tones. A love of nature and desire to bring the outdoors in – biophilic design – a key trend in the interior design world, is satisfied with green towels which look fabulous against a neutral or monochromatic theme.
Whatever colour you choose, bath time feels like spa time when you step out and wrap yourself in a luxuriously soft plush towel.
Towels have become a big part of our active life not just at bath time! We use them at so many different times of the day, as yoga towels, gym towels, golf towels, pool towels, swimming towels, beach towels…the list of our towel needs is endless! We have a huge range of beach towels and find our hand towels are the perfect size for a gym towel or golf towel. Our “just in case” towel is the Turkish style towel, a light, quick dry towel that takes up no space in the day bag!
Both towel collections include bath towels, bath sheets, hand towels, face washers and bath mats.

The vast majority of bath towels are made of cotton terry towelling.
The standard size for better quality bath towels is 140cm x 70cm.
The easiest way to fold your bath towel is in half lengthwise twice so that it is a quarter of the length i.e. 35cm, then fold the width in half for a 35cm square, or fold the width in thirds for a smaller area than can fit in the cupboard easier.
The easiest way to create a bath towel roll is to fold it in half lengthwise twice so that it is a quarter of the length i.e. 35cm, then roll it up across the width. Rolls towels stack well in the cupboard and look great as a pile ready for use.
We recommend washing bath towels weekly but it depends on how much you use it and how humid your bathroom is. Towels that don't dry out fully in a humid bathroom should be washed more often to avoid the build up of bacteria or mould.
Line dry your bath towels in the shade as over drying in direct sun will cause them to feel hard. It's a good idea to tumble towels briefly in the dryer before they are completely dry to break the surface tension. For more details see our blog.
Heat is bad for all cotton textiles as it causes shrinkage and fading. We recommend washing your bath towels on a cold or warm cycle then preferably line dry in the shade. Do not over dry in the dryer or direct sun.
Obviously all bath rooms are different but the main thing is to hang your wet bath towels somewhere that allows air flow over as much of the surface as possible to allow moisture to evaporate. e.g. over a towel rail, or hook on the back of the door.
Most cotton textiles like bath towels will shed some loose fibres the first wash or two so we recommend washing separately until there is no more shedding. Bath towels are then fine to wash with other cotton clothes.
We recommend changing bath towels weekly but it depends on how much you use it and how humid your bathroom is. Towels that don't dry out fully in a humid bathroom should be changed more often to avoid the build up of bacteria or mould.
Pulled treads on a bath towel can be cut with scissors. Bath towels are woven, not knitted, so cutting a pulled thread will not result in a run. Do not pull the loose thread as this will cause a run.
Micro fibre is another name for polyester which is made up of plastic fibres. We strongly recommend against using synthetics as the plastic fibres break up into micro plastics which are washed into the ocean from every wash cycle.
Micro fibre is another for plastic fibres. We strongly recommend natural fibres like cotton which can absorb and release moisture. Plastic or micro fibres break up into micro plastics which can be absorbed through the skin and the air we breathe.
GSM in bath towels refers to Grams per Square Metre. It is a matter of personal preference but most quality bath towels will be at least 6-700gsm while bath sheets can be a bit less due to their larger area.
