Face towels have become one of those much used, highly functional bathroom accessories that we reach for at various times of the day at different stages in our lives. With babies and young children around a baby face washer becomes a go to before, during and after meals to clean up those sticky fingers and messy faces!
Using a face towel or face washer to wash and dry your face rather than using your bath towel for body and face is good personal hygiene. Our faces are particularly sensitive and so using a face washer that is super soft, absorbent and gentle on your skin is important in your skin care routine.
Many dermatologists now recommend a good nighttime cleanse to remove make up, dirt and other impurities that collect on the skin during the day. After gently massaging the cleanser into your face, it can be wiped away thoroughly with a warm damp face washer and then rinsed with fresh cool water to close the pores. Using a soft face washer gently helps to exfoliate your skin. The textured soft cloth shifts the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, allowing your night serums and creams to penetrate more thoroughly moisturising and restoring the skin.
We recommend using a fresh clean face washer every day, but if this isn’t possible, be sure to rinse it out thoroughly and using the face washer loop hang it up to dry. A damp face washer lying around provides the environment for bacteria to flourish in.
Ecodownunder face washers are made from pure organic cotton certified by GOTS. Many face washers are made from microfibres which we don’t recommend as these fabrics are synthetic, like polyester, and each time you use them or wash them, they shed microfibres (plastic) which go down through the plug hole and end up in our ocean. Sticking to organic cotton is better for you and the environment.
