When we started Ecodownunder 25 years ago, there were a lot of low quality sheets coming from China using formaldehyde or polyester for wrinkle resistance.
We were determined to have the best quality sheets we could make with no harsh chemicals or synthetics. In order to solve the wrinkling issue naturally we worked on developing a tightly woven fabric to minimise the problem. We also found that a sateen weave not only reduces wrinkling, it drapes much better for a softer feel.

Once we started sell our eco sheet sets, we started getting lots of customer feedback like "These are the most comfortable sheets I have ever slept on!" It was only then that we realised that by not using synthetics or harsh chemicals, we had accidentally developed sheets that were much more comfortable to sleep on because they breathe. Harsh chemical coatings like formaldehyde or fabric softeners can seal the tiny holes between the cotton fibres, even though your sheets might be made of natural cotton, it can be like sleeping on plastic.

How many sheet sets do you need?
We recommend 2 sets per bed so you can rotate one sheet set on the bed while the other set is in the wash. If styling is your priority, we recommend one white or neutral coloured sheet set that will go with anything and one coloured sheet set to match your favourite quilt or doona cover. Another good idea is to have a different colour for each size bed so you always know what size the sheets are without looking for the label. e.g. light grey for single bed, light blue for king single bed and white sheet sets for the super King bed.
How to store sheet sets?
