Young Australian Design Award 2020 | Ecodownunder

Seeking entries from U23s in multiple disciplines.

You may be a high school student studying science with a creative flair, or you may have chosen a creative path studying visual arts, drawing, fashion design, graphic design, photography or textiles.  You may not be studying at all.

This is an opportunity to be creative and use your artistic skills to help design a new quilt cover collection that will appeal to Ecodownunder’s target audience.

Illustrations: in any format and media using hand or digital illustrations.

Theme background:

Ecodownunder is an Australian family owned business with 9 stores in Sydney and a growing online store selling throughout Australia.  Living by the ocean and spending as much time as possible on the water, has been a big influence on the colour palette and coastal style of their bed and bath collections.  It has also inspired a deep appreciation of the importance of the ocean as “the lifeblood of our world” and a desire to protect it from the effects of harsh chemicals and plastic pollution.  Ecodownunder products are either organic or eco which means they’re made without harsh chemicals and synthetics (textile plastics) and they have successfully eliminated all single use plastic packaging from their stores.

The winning design/s will be influenced by the coastal environment of Australia.

Terms & Conditions:

  • The winner will authorise Ecodownunder, under an exclusive arrangement, to reproduce the artwork for a quilt cover collection.
  • The colours may need to be adapted for commercial purposes and to appeal to Ecodownunder’s premium target audience.
  • The original artwork may need to be adapted in preparation for production for textile print purposes.
  • More than one winner may be chosen if the designs are commercially viable. Similarly, Ecodownunder reserves the right not to select a winner if the submissions are not appropriate for quilt cover designs.
  • The winner may join our affiliate marketing programme and benefit from the sales of the collection generated by their own network.
  • Social media and digital coverage will be given to the competition via our FB, IG and Web platforms.
